Hi Nichole,

If Krita worked before and you didn't install a new version of Krita, then
there must be an issue outside Krita, I'm afraid. I know that on my SP3,
pressure sensitivity was lost after I installed some Windows updates from
Microsoft and weirdly enough, only installing the Photoshop CC trial fixed it
for me! 

Could you add a screenshot of that odd color cross? It doesn't ring a bell...
