--- Comment #62 from Alexey Prokopchuk <alexpro@homelan.lg.ua> ---
My English is not very good, excuse me if I said something wrong.

More than two years ago I wrote here that fingerprint-gui authentication is
broken in kde>4.6, even with generic plugin.
Now I have notebook with fingerprint reader and installed KDE 4.11.14. And, as
I see, the problem still unsolved. So, since I'm a owner of notebook with
fingerprint reader again, and have some free time, I found solution for using
kdm with fingerprint-gui (with generic plugin).
I make another "completely wrong" patch, for kdm-4.11.14. I think it will fit
for later versions kde-4.x too.

You need to make some changes in kdmrc for using fingerprint-gui (add a line
below following section):
[X-*-Greeter]
PluginsLogin=generic,classic

You should set kdm theme "Oxygen" before make changes in kdmrc, because generic
plugin doesn't work with another themes.

Screensaver still doesn't work with fingerprint-gui, but I can say that a
problem resides in kcheckpass and kscreenlocker_greet. Now I can't find
solution, but maybe someone can take a look. Or, maybe developers give us a
hint? :)

With best regards, Alexey Prokopchuk.
