@Thomas Anyways I followed your advise and disabled the aperture effect and set
a rule to enforce docks keep above.

Still alt-tab behaves odd: tabbing to the desktop it appears but
semi-tranparent, some window is vaguely shown behind it.

Further, alt-tab seems to loose the window count. After alt-tab to the desktop,
a next alt-tab does not show the selected window, but again shows the desktop.
Should this be fixed by your patch is or this unrelated?
