dtschump: the key point (I guess) is to disable the 'Inline function expansion'
flag which makes sense in our case, and if the compiler really tried to expand
all inline functions I now understand why the stack had to be huge, here it is

dtschump: so, the compile flag to set absolutely I guess is /Ob0
dtschump: instead of /Ob2 or /Ob1
