Bug ID: 344691
Summary: Plasmashell desktop doesn't load when login shell is
zsh
Product: plasmashell
Version: 5.2.1
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: kde@davidedmundson.co.uk
Reporter: hariharan022@gmail.com
CC: bhush94@gmail.com
When login shell is zsh (version 5.0.7), plasma desktop doesn't load and hangs
with a black screen. The following errors are seen in xsession-errors
/usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsession:70: command not found: ls
/usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsession:81: command not found: xrdb
/usr/bin/startkde: 1: /usr/bin/startkde: sed: not found
/usr/bin/startkde: 35: /usr/bin/startkde: kcheckrunning: not found
/usr/bin/startkde: 67: /usr/bin/startkde: mkdir: not found
/usr/bin/startkde: 70: /usr/bin/startkde: cat: not found
/usr/bin/startkde: 142: /usr/bin/startkde: kstartupconfig5: not found
/usr/bin/startkde: 145: /usr/bin/startkde: xmessage: not found
~
The errors seem to suggest there's something wrong with the PATH. However zsh
itself, and all other commands, work fine - if I drop into command-prompt with
Ctrl-Alt-f2, everything there works great.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change login shell to zsh using chsh
2. Reboot
Actual Results:
Desktop doesn't load - gets stuck on a black screen.
Expected Results:
Desktop should load.
zsh version used - 5.0.7
