Bug ID: 344680
Summary: Errors saving to mtp file systems
Product: ksnapshot
Version: 0.8.2
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: aseigo@kde.org
Reporter: gjditchfield@acm.org
ksnapshot ran into several issues when I tried to save an image to a device
attached via USB. In one case the device was an Acer A100 running Android
4.0.2; in the other, a Nexus 7 (2013) running Ubuntu Touch.
In both cases, when I saved the file, KSnapshot displayed a dialog asking "Do
you really want to overwrite mtp:/path_to_save_location.png", even though no
file with that name is present on the device.
If I tried to save another image, KSnapshot would freeze and begin to rapidly
increment the number in the file name in the window title bar: snapshot1.png,
snapshot2.png, etc.
If I relaunched KSnapshot and tried again, KSnapshot would not give me a chance
to pick a different target folder. It would try to save to the mtp device,
freeze, and begin incrementing the number in the title bar. I had to delete
ksnapshotrc to get KSnapshot working again.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attach a tablet via USB.
2. Take a screen shot.
3. Press [Save As...]
4. Select the tablet in the "Places" pane of the Save As dialog.
5. Select a target folder and press [Save].
6. Repeat steps 1 through 5.
Actual Results:
KSnapshot believes it is overwriting a file that doesn't exist
Expected Results:
KSnapshot should just save the image.
