He is using bash and I'm using zsh. The issue is the same. Every time you press the X button (or alt-f4), the window closes but if you check the resource usage the konsole process (bash/zsh are already killed) are using 100% of one core. Still the process can be terminated with signals TERM and HUP. That means that the process is not completely unresponsive.
