No, it does not even work with XRender; that halts the system and then switches
back to OpenGL1.2. First I put Tearing to Off: that has caused the usual hangs
and kernel issues; then i tried it with XRender with the result as documented
before. On a second try to enable xrender after a restarted kwin the system
halted for so long that I have chosen to reboot with the SysRq keys. To know
whether this is a regression (to me it looks like this) I would have to
re-install my previous OS-version. 3D gaming was still in the times of the
proprietary driver, can`t say whether it was already possible with the nouveau
driver.
