Cannot reproduce this, but perhaps you can help identify what is causing this
behavior on your system? All you have to do is 

1.) Make sure you install "gdb". 
2.) Perform the action that causes Konqueror to freeze. 
3.) When Konqueror freezes, use ksysguard (CTRL+ESC) to find its "pid"
4.) On the command line do: sudo gdb kdeinit4 <pid>
5.) Once gdb launches and gives you a prompt enter "bt" and press enter.

Post the output of that backtrace here. Unfortunately your distro ArchLinux
does not provide debug symbol packages at all and hence the backtrace might not
be as useful, but it will probably give us an indication for the source of your
freeze.
