The chip only supports OGL 1.2, does esp. not support glsl nor does it announce
it.

The interesting question here is why you end up in the GL2 path.
The setup is configured to use it, but should not because the chip should be
detected to be < NV20

Do you enforce things via "KWIN_COMPOSE=O2" or somehow replaced kwin by
kwin_gles?
Neither will work - despite the "400MX" marketing fuzz, it's basically a
GeForce 2
