the effects dont work without using xrender. I use a silding panel and it is
flat with no transparency effects and just appears and doesnt glide out. I am
using the lastest beta catalyst

Also i spat my drink out when hearing the KDE devs probably dont use Catalyst
?! Not sure whether to laugh or cry here. The 3D performance dumps on the
opensource (yes that is changing at a resonable pace) and the big pull for
users is being able to play games and rich media using their AMD cards, the
majority of people will be wanting the very best driver possible which is
closed source and theres nothing wrong with that if it works good which it
does!
