I can confirm using style plastique fixes multiple issues. My issues were

* Memory leak - kmix reached 1.5GB yesterday
* 100% cpu usage on a core when toggling volume with hardware controls
* opening kmix from systray and adjusting volume was not fluid - roughly 1 sec
before slider would adjust to a new value

I'm also using pulse audio and oxygen application theme (but not oxygen plasma
theme)
