Yeah, you're right. It was in an older version that Plasma NM never saved the
PIN.

Anyway, both yours and William Melgaard's problems are related to dbus. If dbus
does not work well Plasma NM cannot save/read any secret data (password,
encryption key, etc).

I have just tested it here and Plasma NM saves both PIN and the password and I
set it to do it. By what I can see in the source code the password is never
saved if it is empty. NetworkManager usually refuses to create connections with
empty fields, I tested here and the gsm password is not one of those cases so I
will commit a change to add a combo box besides the password field with the
storage type (NotRequired, Store, Always Ask) like the one that there is for
the PIN, so you will be able to store an empty string as password.
