            Bug ID: 297208
          Severity: normal
           Version: 2.0
          Priority: NOR
          Assignee: peter.penz19@gmail.com
Summary: Moving Large files to trash doesn't work
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: catkatarn@gmail.com
          Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: general
           Product: dolphin

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML,
like Gecko) Ubuntu/12.04 Chromium/17.0.963.83 Chrome/17.0.963.83 Safari/535.11
Build Identifier:

This only occurs when the file is on my 16GB SD card which I use to record
videos. It does not occur if the file is on the computer its self. Why this
makes a difference I'm not sure, since even when using the "move to trash"
command on the SD card, it still moves files to the main computer's trash. When
on the on the SD card, if you try to delete a large file dolphin complains that
the trash is full, and instructs the user to empty the trash. With a large
enough file this is true even if there is nothing in the trash, and would leave
the standard user with no way to delete some files. True, we can drop to the
command line and use "rm" to remove the file, but not all users know how to use
the command line. Some possible work-arounds;

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Empty Trash
2. insert removable media which contains large files and limited storage space.
3.Right click on a large file (aprox 1.8GB), maybe smaller and try to "move to
trash".

Expected Results:
Expected to move file to trash, but did not.

1) When situation occurs, a popup box offers a button which will display the
contents of the trash for them, another button to empty the trash for them. If
that fixes the problem then proceed to move items to the trash. If the file is
still to0 large, inform the user the file is to big for the trash and must be
deleted permanently.
2) Always display a button to the user to "delete permanently" as well as the
existing button to "move to trash". This would be good in addition to the
above, since it can take almost a minute to move a 2GB file off the SD card,
and simply removing the file is much quicker.
