Digikam creates temp files which include the string "digikamtempfile." These
files are ignored by the collection scanner. Simplistic, but works.
For the reason you mention, we create temp files in the directory of the
destination.

Andreas: Maybe exiv2 could use such a magic string as well?

The usage of a temp file name which is identical per-target per-application may
explain some of the corruption we saw with concurrent operations on the same
file.

Andreas: Just to confirm, writing operations in Exiv2 are reentrant, I mean
writing to multiple _different_ files concurrently is safe, no shared or static
buffers?
