I can confirm the problem on suse 11.4. I am using gstreamer-ffmpeg, so suppose
the issue is as described here:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/gstreamer-devel/2011-April/031448.html

The conclusion there is that gstreamer-ffmpeg is broken. But on the other hand,
if gst123 can seek (which it can in my case), why is amarok not flexible enough
to do the same?
