@Peter Penz: I did some more extensive testing. I could reproduce the crash
every 5-10 CTRL-T and CTRL-W actions, right after dolphin start. I have the
feeling, if I start tabbing earlier after start, reproducing is easier (my pc
is a rather slow intel dual core 1.2 ghz laptop).

After that testing I disabled tooltips. After that I could not reproduce this
anymore so far... (but please don't conclude to remove tooltips in dolphin ;-))

My dolphin panel config: 
left: folder-tree-view
right: detailed-flat-view without preview-icons enabled
