Summary: Auto-hidden plasma panel keeps showing up when
                    defective battery is charging
           Product: plasma
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: widget-battery
        AssignedTo: plasma-bugs@kde.org
        ReportedBy: lenaindelamoria@gmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

The battery of my laptop (4 years old, both of them) is slowly dying and KDE
reminds it to me every time it starts, telling me that my battery only has 35%
of its original capacity left and that I should replace it.

A few weeks ago, this annoying behaviour started: whenever I would plug my
laptop back to charge its battery, the usually auto-hidden plasma panel
(containing a battery widget) would show up without any specific notification.
Then it would not auto-hide itself back until I move the mouse's cursor.
And this happens again and again (within a ten seconds time frame) until the
battery is fully charged.

I am well aware that my battery is defective and its sensors must be sending
wrong signals but it should be possible to use a computer with a battery in end
of life without being annoyed every ten seconds or so.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Get a dying battery with the same symptoms (I suppose)
- Discharge it (any amount will do)
- Plug back the AC charger

Actual Results:
The Plasma panel shows up every ten seconds or so.

Expected Results:
Nothing specific should happen aside from any notification that the AC charger
has been plugged in.

If you need any additional information, feel free to ask. I will be glad to
help.
