Howdy,
This is most definitely a VLC initialization problem.

It would be super awesome if you could find out what version of VLC/libvlc and
Phonon-VLC are installed.

Additionally getting a debug log using the environment variables listed at [1]
would be cool, that should give a good idea of what is going wrong.
