Albert, what is more important to you, engineering software and make it the
best you can or educating, punishing users that in your point of view are
misbehaving?

I think you have no mandate to educate users. Just as users don't have a
mandate to dictate you to implement a feature.

IMHO this is getting *really* ridiculous and is far beyond any professionality.
So if there are hurt feelings its better to state them and to sort them out
instead of recycling the "you have to implement it or accept a patch" - "I
won't implement it or accept a patch" loop. In order to leave the loop one has
to jump over his/her own shadow and has to do it.
