I just have to ask: what's the current status of this feature request?

There are patches, there is a clear demand for this feature and KDE SC 4.6
release date is getting closer, where new features are allowed. Is there a
definite answer about this? Is there something else we can do to make it
happen? If not, I think stating that this feature won't ever be allowed is
better than the current state of indeterminism.
