I made some more testing. Starting xterm from .xprofile is no problem, I can
enter keyboard input here. Starting Kate shows the same problem as KDialog:
Mouse works, but no keyboard.
My guess here is that it is a Qt or KDElibs-related problem. Any hints how to
debug this or gather more information?
