Summary: kmail: Other message selected spontaneously when
                    activities change on date change
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
        ReportedBy: ewoerner@kde.org

Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

----

Steps to reproduce:

In kmail, pick a mailbox with recent messages. Choose
aggregation mode dependent on Activity (I use "current
activity, threaded"). Select a recent message (one
from the current week, as each day in it is a separate
activity). Wait for the date to change at midnight.

What I expect to see:

Activities change, changing the grouping of messages,
but if a message was selected, it stays selected

What I see instead:

At least when the selected message is in an activity
which changed (say, switched from "today" to "yesterday"
or from "yesterday" to "last week", as it happened today),
a different message is selected. I'm not sure what defines
the new selected message.

This may be related to bug #527569, a.k.a.
