Right! On Kubuntu 9.10, start VLC, go to Media / Open file, cancel, and exit.
100% segmentation fault with the same backtrace.

I don't fully understand the static global pattern that the KIO scheduler
appears to use. Is the cleanup always done at exit? or could the crash imply
someone is "leaking" a reference to KIO, which only then falls back to an exit
cleanup handler?
