I just discovered that "fish" allows me to work on a remote file, save it and
not have the exisitng permissions get blown away.

Even though I do have another option with fish, I still see Kdevelop 4's
implemenation of sftp as problematic and inconsistant with the underlying
implemenation of the protocal. Users like myself would expect it to function
consistant with the protocal, only to find that it breaks an application,
website, etc. because the permissions where damaged.
