Summary: When trying to open a DNG or NEF, what is opened in
the JPEG thumb rather than the raw image
           Product: okular
           Version: 0.9
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
        ReportedBy: tyrerj@acm.org

Version: 0.9 (using Devel)
Compiler: GCC-4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

A NEF file (Nikon raw file) contains the raw RGBG image and a JPG thumbnail.
The same is true of a DNG file. I tired to open a NEF file in Okular and the
image quality was rather poor. So, I converted it to DNG with the converter
and tried to open that file. It looked about the same. I used dcraw to make a
PPM file which looks much better. After further research, I am fairly certain
that the problem is that Okular is displaying the JPG thumbnails rather than
converting and opening the file.
