I just reproduced it.

kmenu on desktop (so it won't close). Go to recently used. picked up konqueror
icon, moved it around a bit, let it drop at a different place than the original
one (like one or two above or below).

Memory consumption EXPLODED. I have 8gb ram, 24gb swap now. Memory consumption
in htop jumped to 56% instantly (!) swap storm started, box locked up.
alt+ctrl+backspace would help - but luckily somebody really smart deactivated
this super usefull feature (grrrrr), so I had to do magic-sysrq eiub. 

yes, it is that bad.
