I have a dual processor 1833Mhz laptop, with 3,2Gb of RAM. When I logged in in KDE4 session, just at the start, the plasma process was using 37% Now, after opening a konsole and a firefox, the plasma process is using 80% !!: (top printout) top - 00:40:32 up 48 min, 1 user, load average: 2.01, 2.38, 2.12 Tasks: 132 total, 2 running, 130 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 19.8%us, 4.6%sy, 1.2%ni, 69.7%id, 3.9%wa, 0.6%hi, 0.2%si, 0.0%st Mem: 3054388k total, 1524284k used, 1530104k free, 67392k buffers Swap: 1020088k total, 0k used, 1020088k free, 851024k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 27926 fagulhas 20 0 629m 63m 23m S 45 2.1 2:40.84 plasma 2577 messageb 20 0 54888 31m 808 S 10 1.0 2:21.49 dbus-daemon 27812 fagulhas 20 0 334m 30m 15m S 8 1.0 0:26.76 kded4 28163 fagulhas 20 0 194m 21m 11m S 4 0.7 0:08.91 kmix 760 root 15 -5 0 0 0 S 2 0.0 0:00.56 kjournald 898 root 16 -4 16832 824 364 S 2 0.0 0:25.48 udevd 3110 haldaemo 20 0 36568 5208 4048 S 2 0.2 1:30.54 hald 3517 root 20 0 213m 76m 12m S 2 2.6 1:32.37 Xorg 28106 fagulhas 20 0 503m 35m 18m S 2 1.2 0:08.96 krunner 28841 fagulhas 20 0 198m 19m 13m S 2 0.7 0:01.27 konsole (cutted) Also I notice that the laptop is hot as hell, as it is summer here, and I leave it on my legs :) It's really anoying the high CPU If you need any more info, please tell me so PD: I'm not using any widget in the desktop/panel, and I have disabled all the "compiz-like visual effects" Thanks for your efforth :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
