Summary: Amarok deletes tags from files in playlist
Product: amarok
Version: 2.0.2
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
ReportedBy: madengineer10@gmail.com
Version: 2.0.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
I started my system up, and Amarok automatically loaded because it was running
before shutdown. I then unmounted the volume that holds all my music files in
order to run fsck. After remounting, I attempted to use Amarok, and found that
the collection view showed only "Various Artists" and "Unknown", and songs were
not organized properly into albums in the playlist. I commanded Amarok to
rescan the collection, which restored the collection view to normal, but items
in the playlist continued to display without album organization until I removed
and re-added them.
More seriously, I found that all the tracks that were in the playlist at the
time of the initial disturbance (when the collection stopped showing correctly)
had their ID3 tags wiped.
