As shown in, it is a bug in:

Trying "tiffcp ~/kde4/city.tiff out.tif" (or with quad-jpeg.tiff in
koffice/filters/krita/tiff/tests/data which is even funny since that file is
part of the official libtiff test suite :/ ) fails with libtiff 3.8.2 but works
with 3.9.0beta or 4.0.0beta2, so I am assuming the bug has been fixed in
libtiff, and therefor I close this bug as INVALID (if this still happen in
3.9.0beta, or 4.0.0beta2, feel free to reopen).
