Yes, I think that is all I had in mind. It's been a couple of years
since I used ddd, but they had some extra stuff to show the structures
and the relationships between them. (eg pointers which would point to
another structure). I was debugging a linked list problem and it was
very useful (If I'm remembering correctly) because I could point the
first watch at a link and the other watches would automatically update
relative to the first one.
However if you can drill down through a structure then that is probably
good enough for most purposes.
