Enabling compositing and transparency only enables the compositing manager in KDE3 \
(which GNOME doesn't have, which is why there is no problem). But I don't see how a \
compositing manager should affect video playback and even if it does, it is still a \
problem on the X level, not KDE. Also, the players should not just crash. I suggest \
reporting the problem to the developers of the video players or X developers.
