This has something to do with the length of filename or the length of the Title tag.  I have some albums where only the shorter titles can be dragged from the "collection" pane onto the playlist.  All tracks can be dragged from the "files" pane, but when played, the play statistics (last played, play count, etc.) are only updated for the shorter-named tracks too.

If it is any relevance, these are flac files.
