Stopping it rendered the buttons on the headset and the volume control buttons on the laptop inoperative. There were then also no global shortcuts in kmix. Assigning them and pressing the button made kmix react to both the headhone controls and the laptop buttons. All three sets of buttons now control whichever master channel is selected. It does not seem possible to differentiate controls, e.g. for the multimedia keys to control the system sound device and the headphone buttons to control the headphones. 4) I've never used them but they seem to work. 5) N/A (using 3.5.9) The command you asked for gave no output. Sorry if I'm wasting your time.
