The state of the Control modifier determines whether line breaks which Konsole \
inserts to wrap long lines of text are preserved in the copied output. In other \
words, copying a block of text with Control pressed and pasting it will give output \
laid out exactly as it is seen in Konsole. That it results in an extra new-line \
character at the end which can be used to paste-and-execute is a side-effect.
I have to say, I personally prefer the new behavior and find it more predictable.
