------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150357 Summary: amarok - need a dcop call to change alsa stereo output value - ease life of a2dpd users Product: amarok Version: 1.4.6 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org ReportedBy: ybby12 yahoo fr Version: 1.4.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Hi, here is the use case : user use amarok with xine engine + alsa output plugin and has a bluetooth stereo headset + a stereo amplifier to use the stereo bluetooth headset, user got to click settings -> amarok settings -> engine , then change value of stereo field from "default" to "a2dpd" to go back to stereo amplifier, user got to re-click settings -> amarok settings -> engine , then change value of stereo field from "a2dpd" to "default" this is a "usability" problem for users performing this switch quite often. ideally, there could be a better a2dpd integration in amarok/kde, there could also be new options allowing the switch from a new "toggle" button in the GUI, but this is a huge task that would only benefit to few users. a first step to ease a2dpd user's life could be to implement a dcop call allowing to set the value of the alsa device configuration field. Thanks.
