I am using the newest digikam version of the openSUSE backports repository \
(0.9.2-29.1) and I still have a similar problem. Rotating left or right always \
rotates the images 180 °. When I do it a second time, though, it rotates 90 ° or 270 \
° as it is supposed to.

So this bug doesn't seem to be resolved.
