I really like the idea of having my originals untouched.

i use iphoto and i also like editing my pictures and coming back to the original when \
i need to i have a 20000+ picture library, so i don't like the idea of having a copy \
of every image i ever changed. i would appreciate a solution where i have my orginal \
in a folder and a recipe of my changes to it.

why not develop a xml schema to track the last change of a file and what has been \
done. so we might easily check whether the picture has been changed from outside (so \
my recipe needs to be destroyed) and if not i just get a view of my orginal with the \
used effects from my recipe

for using thumbnails we just take original+recipe not the original and recreate it \
when a recipe was flushed
