Summary: Dual monitor is not working for me (ATI Radeon Mobility
                    M6)
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: simon simonzone com
        ReportedBy: xavidp confluencia net

Version: 0.2 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu13)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-13-generic

I have a 4 year old toshiba laptop (Satellite 1900-102) with a video card ATI Radeon \
Mobility M6. On uindous I can have dual-head (screen divided in the 2 monitors) mode \
with no problems.

I have ubuntu 7.04 beta installed. I've intalled kubuntu-desktop to have all the kde \
also on it. I restarted, and after login in kde (3.5.6), I went to "System settings > \
Monitor and Display".

I Connected the external monitor to the laptop, and thus I saw the same screen on \
both monitors.

Then in "Monitor & Display" I selected dual head mode (going into administrative \
mode),, played a bit with the settings to match resolution 1074+768 on both screens. \
And applied changes. It told me something about logging out the session in order to \
restart the X server, and so I did. But no way. Screen is cloned on both monitors. I \
restarted,. and same result.

I'd love to have dual head mode (as I'm used to work with under uindous on the same \
computer). This would be one good reason to migrate from gnome to kde for me...
