Summary: Add an option to find hosts via arping requests in Lisa
Product: kdelibs
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: knetwork
AssignedTo: thiago kde org
ReportedBy: t.artem mailcity com
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: GCC 4.1.2 i686 vanilla
OS: Linux
Currently lisa daemon uses ping and nblookup requests to find hosts on LAN. \
That will be nice if Lisa could also search for hosts using arping \
requests. I ask for this because some hosts on my network are fully \
firewalled (due to security policy) yet they are visible via arping. As a \
system administrator I need to know whether they are alive or not.
