I found a link that displays the behavior originally mentioned.  Closing Firefox will have the same effect if you cannot catch the cancel button.

I am still experiencing the new issue at the other two real media links, and this is occurring for me after a fresh install on a new hard drive, and with Kaffeine being the first non-default package installed after the default KDE configuration.
