When selecting "Kcontrol" from the menu of opening via console, I get the main window which \
tells me who I am, what type OS system and version of Kcontrol I'm using, but the left panel is \
absent. I've searched many sites for an answer, and nobody's solution seems to help...as if I'm \
a special case. I'm using Debian Etch, and upgrade from Debian Sarge, Before the upgrade \
everything was working fine. I cannot customize my KDE settings easily until this issue is \
resolved, it's pretty annoying. 

Someone said it was a symlink issue, but when I looked further into it, I created an empty file \
and symlinked to it. The file just doesn't exist or seem to be in the .deb package. The symlink \
resolution helped lots of people... but it does not help those who do not have the file in \
their system. I hope this is resolved quickly.
