I did it long ago and now rewrote it using ruby korundum with DCOPRef,
it's not all that evil with khotkeys.

basically I modify the coordinates of the selection interface and save them in
a hash using kate-session and document number in a running process that receives dcop \
call and dispatches the params. So almost as in joe
k-b, k-e, k-c copy at cursor, k-v move at cursor, k-h toggle selection,
