Summary: Error message when trying to add yourself to contact
list.
Product: kopete
Version: unspecified
Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
ReportedBy: sknauert wesleyan edu
Version: 0.11.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux
Disclaimer: I only use kopete for AIM and this error may just be related to \
the AIM plug-in.
When logging on to my account, I get the following error every time:
Error Creating Contact
You are not allowed to add yourself to the contact list. The addition of \
"username" to account "username" will not take place.
Allowing one to have themself on their contact list is supported by the AIM \
protocol, which is why my username is on my contact list, it is stored on \
the AIM server. Other AIM clients support this just fine. Besides removing \
the annoying system modal error message (the entire desktop becomes \
sluggish until I hit Okay), it is a useful feature to have oneself on their \
contact list to test away messages.
