A trivial work around: back up your playlist (for example, to \
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/current.xml.bak) and then copy it back at login time. I \
added the following line to .xinitrc:

cp $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/current.xml.bak \
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/current.xml

Of course, you need to update the backup every time the playlist changes and some \
info (like LastPlayed) is lost.
