This is now implemented for the eventual KDE 4 release. Because normally only bug fixes are allowed for KDE 3.5 releases, it won't necessarily be possible to include it in an official KDE 3 release. But it will be available for KDE 3 in the next standalone release of KAlarm, available at http://www.astrojar.org.uk/linux/kalarm.html
