Well, KSpread does non-contigous cell selection, Konqueror does it with files - it \
works the same way like in KMail. I have to say, I did not abstract to arbitrary \
items, but had only KPDF and text in mind. Nevertheless, it would be a useful \
system-wide feature, no matter, if you think about multiple paragraphs of text, \
images, selections in images, files, whatever.
