Thanks for working on this.  I actually run KDVI from within Gnome 
(Ubuntu seems to run a little nicer than Kubuntu in my opinion).  Do you 
know if this will work in Gnome as well?  Do I just need to build KDVI 
from source to try your fix or are there other things I need to do to 
try it out?
