What about making a "toggle" home button?
For example: press once and get to your web home page. Press again and get to your \
home dir.

And after all, why not pushing the idea further:
Link the "home button" to a list where the user can list his home pages.
And pressing the "homeButton" just browse the list in the order set up by the user. \
As a better UI feature, let's have the "home button" showing the name of the next \
item on the list.

In this way, some user can choose to have a short list (2 items) for a quick \
browse-through as other will prefer an extensive abuse of the list.

I suspect some will react: What's the difference with bookmmarks then?
Well, in my opinion, bookmarks are for pages which are used regularly. It doesn't \
mean often. In fact it isn't really often used because I need to have the bookmark \
sorted per field (utils, news, IT, sport,...) to find out what the page is for. But \
the pages in the home button are the ones I always check through, everyday, and even \
before checking my mails.

And this usage of the home button just sends the forever-existing "home button" back \
to the stone age. This usage of the "home button" is not incompatible with the \
profile-dependent "home button" as described above by some users.
