Summary: inserting a cd rw hangs system -> hw reset necessary
           Product: k3b
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: trueg informatik uni-freiburg de
        ReportedBy: thomas.luebking web de

Version: 0.12.91 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 3.4.1
OS: Linux

as soon as i insert a cd rw into my dvd burner (benq dw1640) k3b hangs the system completely (no cpu \
activity anymore) the disc seems to be ok, at least it's mountable and plays in my consumer disc player

there's no problem with dvds, pressed or burned discs but the (prewritten with k3b earlier, i have no \
vanilla rw disc) makes the system halt.

does k3b call another tool on this or is it an internal feature (so i could e.g. try to change the \
cdrecord version) and in the latter case, where in the code can this be monitored - i.e. which function \
in which file is called on this trigger?
